PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration is moving forward with design plans to improve MD 231 (Hallowing Point Road) in Calvert County. - installing a two-way center left turn lane from Toye Lane to Mason Road,
- assuring bike compatibility through the intersections,
- installing drainage improvements including stormwater management facilities to manage water runoff, and
- replacing and upgrading existing traffic barriers.
Construction is anticipated to begin at Skipjack Road in spring/ summer 2025. Construction is anticipated to begin at MD 508 and from Toye Lane to Mason Road in 2026.

What to Expect
State Highway Administration representatives will be in the area during the next few months to collect field data.
If there is a need to enter or perform work on private property, owners will receive a notification letter with additional information and project contacts. Travelers should also be alert for work crews and possible daytime shoulder closures.
The project team will provide additional information at a public meeting this spring and through project mailings and updates on the Project Portal at: https://bit.ly/mdot-sha-md231-intersection- improvements or use the QR code below.

They should immediately stop this project and fire anyone involved in the planning for the Jibsail and park right-turn only mess. It does absolutely nothing to deter people turning left and only makes it more dangerous since they now just do wide u-turns out to go left. 100% waste of money so far.
