LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — Kristina Hope Beggs, a 47-year-old Mechanicsville resident, remains in custody following her June 27, 2025, arrest in St. Mary’s County on fresh charges of drug possession. That new arrest has led to cascading legal developments, including a bond revocation and active bench warrant in an unrelated Calvert County felony drug case where she had recently entered a guilty plea.
According to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, Beggs was arrested on June 27 on charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (not cannabis) and a traffic violation. Court records indicate that her bond in the Calvert County case was revoked shortly after the new arrest, potentially impacting her participation in Calvert’s adult drug court program.
Court documents show that Beggs was indicted on May 19, 2025, by a Calvert County grand jury on six counts tied to a May 8 drug incident. She was charged with distributing cocaine, conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute, among other offenses. A co-defendant, named in court documents as Darnell Brice, was also allegedly involved.
Beggs appeared before Judge Mark S. Chandlee on May 27 and was released under pretrial supervision. On June 26, she pleaded guilty to one felony count and was admitted into Calvert’s adult drug court. But just five days later, following her arrest in St. Mary’s County, Judge Chandlee revoked her bond and issued a bench warrant on July 1. That warrant remains active, with no bond set.
Beggs faces three felonies and three misdemeanors in Calvert County. Each felony charge — distribution and possession with intent — carries a maximum sentence of 20 years and $15,000 in fines. The conspiracy counts carry the same penalties. Her misdemeanor charges, including possession and paraphernalia, could result in up to two more years in jail.
If convicted on all counts and sentenced to the maximum allowed under Maryland law, she could face over 60 years of incarceration. Her next scheduled appearance in drug court is July 10, pending resolution of the active warrant. The Calvert County State’s Attorney’s Office continues to advance pretrial proceedings.
