NAWCAD Opens Recruitment For Financial Management Analyst Interns

NAVAL AIR STATION PATUXENT RIVER, Md. — The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) is seeking applicants for its upcoming class of Financial Management Analyst Interns, offering career pathways in the Naval Acquisition Development Program (NADP) and the Financial Management Career Program (FMCP).

Applications are open now through Sept. 30, 2025, with positions available at Patuxent River and St. Inigoes in Southern Maryland, as well as the Arlington, Va., area.

The internships are entry-level roles at the GS-07 and GS-09 levels, with promotion potential to GS-11 or GS-12. Starting salaries begin at $57,164 for those with a bachelor’s degree and $69,923 for candidates with a master’s degree or equivalent. Successful applicants must be U.S. citizens and able to obtain and maintain a secret-level security clearance.

Duties include:

  • Performing or advising on work in any phase of budget administration.
  • Analyzing and recommending costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management.
  • Providing advice on effective and efficient methods for acquiring and using funds to support programs and activities.
  • Formulating budget and cost estimates to support plans, programs and activities.
  • Developing, determining and interpreting budgetary policies and practices.

Qualifications:

  • GS-07: Bachelor’s degree with 24 credits in finance, accounting, or business administration and a 2.95 GPA or higher, or one year of specialized experience at the GS-05 level.
  • GS-09: Master’s degree or equivalent graduate education with a 2.95 GPA or higher, or one year of specialized experience at the GS-07 level.
  • For the FMCP program, degrees must have been earned within the last two years.
  • Applicants may also qualify through a combination of education and experience equating to one year of work at the required level.

Notice of result letters will not be sent. Applicants chosen for meet-and-greet sessions will be contacted in mid-October.
