WALDORF, Md. — Several new restaurants and shops are opening in Waldorf and nearby Brandywine, including a hot-chicken restaurant with hearty sides, a kabob eatery with international flavors, and the area’s first QDOBA Mexican Eats.
Other additions include a Zaxby’s, a world-food supermarket and a fitness center, giving residents more dining and shopping choices close to home.
Crunch Fitness
Location: 3035 Waldorf Market Place, Waldorf, Md.
A full-service gym and fitness center currently in build-out, soon to bring new workout options to the Waldorf shopping plaza.
Expected opening: Final inspections are scheduled for the week of Sept. 29, 2025. Once inspections are cleared, they will announce the official opening date.
HCK Hot Chicken
Location: 3082 Waldorf Market Place, Waldorf, Md.
A Nashville-style hot-chicken eatery currently under construction, HCK Hot Chicken is set to stand out from typical fried-chicken spots with signature menu items such as the Loaded Mac and Cheese Bowl, Country Chicken Salad, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, and a variety of bone-in and boneless wings alongside hand-breaded tenders.
Expected opening: To be announced soon.
Mâmân Joon – Real Authentic Kabob
Location: Next to World Food Supermarket, 2215 Crain Highway, Waldorf, Md.
Opening alongside the new World Food Supermarket, this halal-friendly restaurant will serve kabobs, biryani, curries and milkshakes in a casual, family-friendly setting.
Opening date: Oct. 1, 2025.
Meadow’s Subs & Pizza – Brandywine
Location: 14123 Brandywine Road, Brandywine, Md.
Meadow’s Subs & Pizza is expanding to Brandywine with a new location offering dine-in, takeout and delivery. The menu will feature subs, wings, pizza, salads and pasta.
Expected opening: Oct. 2, 2025.
QDOBA Mexican Eats
Location: 2952 Festival Way, Waldorf, Md.
The first confirmed QDOBA in Southern Maryland, this fast-casual concept will offer customizable burritos, bowls, tacos and more.
Expected opening: No confirmed date, but opening appears imminent with staff inside stocking and prepping.
Spirit Christmas
Location: Former Spirit Halloween store, 3017 Waldorf Market Place, Waldorf, Md.
Southern Maryland will host the state’s only Spirit Christmas this year as the popular seasonal retailer transforms its Waldorf Halloween store into a winter-themed pop-up. Shoppers can stroll Peppermint Lane with life-size animatronics, sparkling lights and photo-ready holiday scenes inspired by classics like “Frosty the Snowman” and “The Island of Misfit Toys.”
Expected opening: November 2025.
World Food Supermarket
Location: 2215 Crain Highway, Waldorf, Md.
A new international grocery destination offering more than 21,000 items, including halal meats, seafood, fresh produce, baked goods and pantry staples — all under one roof.
Grand opening: Oct. 1, 2025.
Zaxby’s Chicken Fingers & Wings
Location: 3068 Waldorf Market Place, Waldorf, Md.
Zaxby’s, known for its chicken fingers, Buffalo wings, signature sauces and crinkle-cut fries, is preparing to open next to Red Robin.
