The Walter J. Mitchell Elementary School in La Plata greeted new teachers and staff at a reception on Sept. 24 at the Middleton Hall in Waldorf.
Support and administrative personnel were also invited and more than 200 public school employees attended.
Charles County has 40 schools and educational centers: 21 elementary schools, 8 middle schools, 6 high schools and 5 centers including F.B. Gwynn Educational Center, Robert D. Stethem Educational Center, Nanjemoy Creek Environmental Center, Adult Education Program at Lifelong Learning Center and the Adult Services Center (EDP).
