NEWBURG, Md. — A longtime Newburg business has a new name, with Bubba’s Place now operating as Newburg Market under new ownership.
New owner Divya shared on social media that she has taken over the business, noting this is her second business and expressing appreciation for the support she has received.
“Cooking has always been more than just making food for me — it’s my passion, my joy and my way of bringing people together,” she said. “Every dish I create is made with love, dedication and the desire to serve something truly special.”
The Charles County Board of License Commissioners on Thursday, April 9, 2026, approved the transfer of the Class D beer, wine and liquor license for the business.
According to statements made during the hearing, there will be no changes to the business’s operations. The market will continue with the same staff under the new ownership. Additional menu options could be added in the near future, including falafel and curry.
Newburg Market is located at 15486 Rock Point Road, Newburg, MD 20664, and operates as a multi-service stop offering bait, deli, grocery and liquor options.
The market is open Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
