COLLEGE PARK, Md. — The University of Maryland men’s soccer team has officially claimed the No. 1 national ranking after finishing its regular season undefeated, capping the campaign with a 4-3 road win over Michigan State on Friday, Nov. 7, 2025, in East Lansing.
The Terrapins’ victory secured the Big Ten regular-season championship and closed out a dominant run with a final record of 12-0-3 overall and 8-0-2 in Big Ten play, according to the United Soccer Coaches national poll and UMTerps.com.
Maryland’s balanced offense and steady defense have carried them through the season without a single loss. The team’s energy and consistency have made Ludwig Field one of the toughest venues in college soccer — and the Terrapins will return there this week to begin postseason play.

The Terrapins enter the Big Ten Tournament as the No. 1 overall seed and will host the semifinal round at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025, at Ludwig Field in College Park. They’ll face the No. 4 seed UCLA Bruins, with the match broadcast live on the Big Ten Network.
