
ST. GEORGE’S ISLAND, Md. – The National Weather Service (NWS)/National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has proposed raising the flood stage thresholds by 0.5 feet at Straits Point, beginning June 13, 2024, to include:
• Minor flood stage to be raised from 3.0 feet to 3.5 feet Mean Low Lower Water (MLLW)
• Moderate flood stage to be raised from 3.5 to 4.0 feet MLLW
• Major flood stage would remain the same at 5.0 feet MLLW
