At 4:30 a.m. Feb. 10, an off-duty Prince Georges County Police Officer, traveling through the Mechanicsville area, received a “hit” off his Lo Jack (stolen vehicle locater device).
F/Sgt. C. Hughes and TFC S. Van Bennekum responded to the area. F/Sgt. Hughes, with the use of a MSP Lo Jack unit, located a John Deere backhoe which had been reported stolen in Prince Georges County on Jan. 26.
The backhoe was removed to a secured facility and processed by the crime lab.
