SEVERN, Md. — A routine traffic stop early Thursday morning led to the recovery of a stolen firearm and the arrest of a Severn man.

At approximately 4:20 a.m., on December 12, 2024, officers on patrol near Annapolis Road and Ridge Road observed a blue Mazda CX5 traveling at a high rate of speed without its headlights on. Officers initiated a traffic stop in the area of Severn Road and Citadel Drive.

During the stop, officers discovered a stolen 9mm Ruger SR9 handgun with a loaded extended magazine hidden beneath the driver’s seat, police said.

The driver, identified as 21-year-old Andre D. Flood of Severn, was arrested at the scene. Flood faces multiple charges, including possession of a stolen firearm.
