Law Enforcement Officers responded to a call for a welfare check at a Callaway residence.
Upon arrival uniformed officers approached the door in an attempt to make contact with the occupant of the residence and while doing so heard a gunshot from inside the home.
Officers retreated and additional units responded from both the Sheriff’s Office and Maryland State Police. Negotiators and the Emergency Services Team responded.
No contact was established and when Officers entered the residence they located a male subject, deceased from a single gunshot wound. BCI Detectives are continuing the investigation into the apparent suicide.
