HOLLYWOOD, Md. — We are receiving reports of a motorcycle accident this evening that is sending two people to the hospital.

At approximately 6:15 p.m. on November 10, first responders were called to the scene in the 23000 block of Hollywood Road, in the area of the McKay’s grocery store for the reported accident. Initial reports had indicated that there was only a motorcycle involved that had crashed with two riders.

Upon arrival, it was determined that another vehicle, a green Kia Soul, had been involved in striking the motorcycle.

The two bike passengers were determined to be in need of immediate medical attention and were transported to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital where both would be transported to a nearby trauma center by helicopter. One patient who is being flown has been identified by first responders as a 24-year-old male who is believed to have fractured his femur. No details about the other patient have been released at this time.

Trooper 2 from Maryland State Police Aviation was launched from Joint Base Andrews to make the transports.

Hollywood Road, which had been shut down temporarily, has since reopened. Continue to use caution if traveling in the area.

This is a developing story. We will continue to provide additional details as they come available.
