UPDATE FROM CCSO: On January 9, at 2:03 a.m., officers responded to the area of Acton Lane near Tawny Drive in Waldorf for the report of a motor vehicle crash. A preliminary investigation showed the driver appeared to be traveling westbound on Acton Lane when the vehicle left the roadway just prior to Tawny Drive and overturned. The driver, Bruce Matthew Lyles, Jr., 36, of Waldorf, was ejected from the car and pronounced deceased on the scene.

WALDORF, Md. — We are receiving reports that one person has died as a result of an overnight accident in Waldorf.
At approximately 2:05 a.m. on January 9, first responders were called to the scene of Acton Lane and Tawny Drive for a serious motor vehicle accident, with reports of one of the occupants being ejected from their vehicle.
Upon arrival, crews discovered an overturned Ram truck and a patient who had been ejected from the vehicle and had landed in a nearby pile of snow.
Due to the serious condition of the patient, CPR was immediately administered while calls for additional medical personnel were made.
Unfortunately, the patient would soon after be declared deceased on the scene.
