WALDORF, Md. — A fatal collision occurred yesterday afternoon, April 22, 2024, at approximately 2:53 p.m. on Crain Highway (Route 301) and Acton Lane, resulting in one fatality and two injured.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene to find two vehicles with multiple occupants injured. The passenger in a Ford was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ford was air-lifted to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore by Maryland State Police, Trooper 2, for further treatment of their injuries. The driver of a GMC was transported by ambulance to Shock Trauma.

According to a preliminary investigation, the GMC was traveling southbound on Crain Highway while at the same time, the Ford was traveling northbound on Crain Highway, attempting to make a left turn onto Acton Lane, when the GMC failed to stop at the red light and struck the Ford.
