MECHANICSVILLE, Md. — One person was transported to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash involving entrapment Wednesday night in Mechanicsville, according to emergency personnel.
The crash was reported at approximately 9:43 p.m. on April 1, 2026, at the intersection of Three Notch Road and Loveville Road.
Crews arrived to find two vehicles in the median, with both southbound lanes shut down. One vehicle had struck a guardrail, and one person was reported trapped inside.
Firefighters conducted an extrication and removed the patient from the vehicle. Emergency medical services evaluated the patient at the scene and transported them to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of injuries.
A second individual involved in the crash was evaluated but refused care.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The vehicle that caused the accident was traveling the wrong way on 235. Traveling northbound using the southbound side of the Highway.
