At approximately 6:18 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20, emergency responders were called to the scene of a single car accident in the area of 29001 Point Lookout Road in Morganza.
First responders arrived to find a single vehicle that apparently lost control and crossed the center line and slammed into a utility pole, causing the vehicle to over turn.
The vehicle severed the utility pole and Southern Maryland Electrical Cooperative was called to repair downed power lines at the scene. EMS and fire personnel were able to treat the male and female victims and they were transported to the hospital. The accident is under investigation at this time.
No word on the condition of the transported victims.
