Discover your unique way of giving back by trying out one of the 37 volunteer projects at United Way of Calvert Countyโ€™s annual Day of Caring, set for Wednesday, September 12. Join hundreds of employees from local businesses and people of all ages as they set out to make a difference in the community. Tap into your culinary skills while cooking meals for homebound seniors, channel your green thumb while beautifying the grounds of a local human service agency, or share your organizational prowess by sorting donations for new parents. United Way staff is available to help you match your talent and passion to a purpose.

Day of Caring couldnโ€™t happen without the generosity of local employers, who lend their employees out to help the community. Past Day of Caring supporters have included large companies like Constellation Energy, PNC Bank, Community Bank of Tri-County, Dominion Welch and Rushe and SMECO; to local businesses such as Amore Hair Salon, Polk Insurance & Investments, Chesapeake Potomac Home Health, SJ Johnson, World Gym and Kaine Homes; to local organizations such as Calvert County Government, Calvert County Public Schools, Calvert County Chamber of Commerce and Asbury Solomons Island.

Bayside Toyota hosts the Day of Caring kickoff celebration on September 12 in their show room with continental breakfast and a motivational send off from local dignitaries at 8 a.m. Afterwards, every volunteer receives their LIVE UNITED t-shirt and is directed to their chosen project for the day. Check out www.unitedwaycalvert.org for a complete project guide and contact Sherri Gedridge at (410) 286-0100 or at uwadmin@unitedwaycalvert.org if you need help finding the right project for you.
