LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — The Patuxent River Naval Air Museum is seeking adult volunteers to join its Flight Simulators Team, offering community members an opportunity to mentor students and support hands-on learning in aviation and STEM fields.
According to information shared by the museum, volunteers on the Flight Simulators Team work directly with students using interactive flight simulation technology. The program is designed to encourage interest in aviation, science, technology, engineering and math, while also promoting leadership, teamwork and confidence through practical experience.
Volunteers are asked to share real-world knowledge and guidance with students who are curious about aviation and related careers. Through the simulator program, participants gain exposure to flight concepts, problem-solving skills and collaborative learning in an engaging, educational environment. The Pax Museum volunteer site states that “prior experience is not required as the team will provide the needed training.” This program would be great if you have experience and knowledge already, or if you just want to learn.
