
SEVERN, Md. — A man with no fixed address was taken into custody Wednesday morning after attempting to carjack an elderly driver, assaulting workers with a knife, and being found in possession of suspected drugs.
Officers responded around 10:20 a.m. on March 12, 2025, to the area of New Cut Road and Grover Road following reports of a disorderly individual. According to the Anne Arundel County Police Department, the suspect, later identified as 39-year-old Larenzo Cameron Martin, had stolen a white Dodge Charger and was involved in a minor crash.
After the collision, Martin allegedly exited the vehicle and attempted to force a 76-year-old man from his maroon Hyundai Sonata. The driver managed to escape, prompting Martin to return to the stolen Dodge.
Nearby workers, witnessing the incident, approached the vehicle to check on Martin, at which point he swung a knife at them. No injuries were reported, and one of the workers secured the knife after Martin dropped it.
Responding officers arrived and arrested Martin without further incident. A search recovered suspected PCP and crack cocaine in his possession. He was transported to a hospital for treatment before being booked on multiple charges.

- Possession of a controlled dangerous substance (not cannabis) (x2)
- Robbery
- Disturbing the peace/disorderly conduct
- Disorderly conduct
- Inhaling or smelling an intoxicant
- Second-degree assault (x2)
- First-degree assault (x2)
- Rogue and vagabond
- Unauthorized taking of a motor vehicle
Martin remains in custody without bond.
