LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — A pedestrian was airlifted to a trauma center following a collision with a vehicle Friday evening in Lexington Park.

The crash occurred around 5:22 p.m. on December 27, 2024, near the intersection of Willows Road and South Shangri-La Drive. First responders found a white sedan and an injured pedestrian lying on the sidewalk upon arrival.

Firefighters established a landing zone at nearby Lancaster Park for the Maryland State Police Trooper 7 helicopter, which airlifted the injured pedestrian to UM Capitol Region Medical Center for treatment.

The driver of the Chevrolet remained at the scene and was not injured.

Police continue to investigate the collision. Additional details will be released as they become available.
