Brian Mayer of Prince Frederick has been nominated for this year’s Mardi Gras King of The United Way of Calvert County. During his campaign Brian must host creative fund raising events to raise donations for The United Way. Every $1.00 Brian Mayer raises for the United Way = 1 vote for Brian to be crowned KING.
On January 15, 2010 at 10 a.m., Mayer along with close friends and the community will convene at The Rod N Reel Restaurant in Chesapeake Beach to jump into the frigid Chesapeake Bay. If you want to help raise money for The United Way by jumping in, there is a registration fee of $20.00 all of which is donated to The United Way and stays in Calvert County.
Miss Maryland Teen will be there to sign autographs and take pictures in support of Brian, along with a Haiti Missions team, the field captain of The Johns Hopkins Rugby team, Pastors of Emmanuel Baptist Church, a Rock Star, and a Town Councilman along with many others in the community who will be taking the ICY plunge! Sign up to get in the water when you get there!
