Chaptico, MD — St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded on Sunday, March 8 to a residence on Rivendell Way in Chaptico to check the welfare of two female occupants. Upon entering the home, deputies located two females in a bedroom with gunshot wounds; both were deceased.
They were identified as Victoria H. Reeves, 58, and Janet M. Little, 45, both of Chaptico. Detectives and Crime Laboratory technicians from the Criminal Investigations Division responded to the residence and assumed the investigation.
The investigation is ongoing. The exact cause and manner of death is pending examination by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
At this time, there is no indication the deaths were a result of a third party. Additional details will be released as they are developed.
