All roads have reopened 

UPDATE 5:15 p.m.

All ambulances are returning to service. No patients are being transported to the hospital. The package has been deemed harmless.

UPDATE 4:50 p.m.

The package was shipped through Amazon. The package was unopened when received by Hazmat. No powdered substance was found inside. 

UPDATE 4:38 p.m.

There are now a possible 12 patients. All ambulances in the county have been requested.

UPDATE 4:06 p.m.

There are a possible seven patients. A Lexington Park Rescue Squad has been requested to prep an ambulance for a possible Ebola patient. They are currently asking for more ambulances.

UPDATE 3:58 p.m. from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office

Deputies/Fire/EMS at Callaway post office investigating suspicious envelope – Incident is contained. Stay away fm the area

UPDATE 3:42 p.m.

Piney Point Road is shut down. 

March 26, 3:36 p.m.

Callaway post office has been evacuated due to an unknown substance. Police en route. Hazmat unit is en route.
