PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — A Prince Frederick man is facing numerous drug, alcohol, and traffic-related charges following a late-night traffic stop and arrest in Calvert County earlier this year, according to court records.
Barry Jeremiah Parran, 58, of Prince Frederick, was arrested on Jan. 25, 2026, after Maryland State Police responded to a report of a vehicle off the roadway near Arthur King Road. Troopers located a gold GMC Yukon being operated without registration plates and initiated a traffic stop near Silverwood Lane and Fairground Road.
According to the statement of probable cause, Parran was identified as the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle. Troopers reported observing indicators of alcohol impairment, including slurred speech, glassy and bloodshot eyes, and the odor of an alcoholic beverage. Parran declined to participate in standardized field sobriety testing and was taken into custody for suspected impaired driving.
While processing Parran at the Calvert County Detention Center, officers reported recovering a cut plastic straw and a plastic bag containing white powder residue from his person. Investigators also documented white powder residue found within cash Parran was carrying, according to charging documents.
As a result of the investigation, Parran was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled dangerous substance other than cannabis, and possession or receipt of a controlled dangerous substance while confined or detained.
Parran also faces multiple alcohol- and traffic-related charges, including driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving while impaired by alcohol, attempting to drive without a valid license or authorization, operating an unregistered vehicle, driving without current tags, knowingly driving an uninsured vehicle, failure to attach registration plates, failure to display a registration card upon demand, failure to display a driver’s license to a uniformed officer, failure to obey traffic control devices, reckless driving, negligent driving, and seat belt–related violations.
Court records show Parran was released the same day on a $1,000 unsecured personal bond.
A trial is scheduled for March 2, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. in Calvert District Court.
