Scotland, MD ย –ย Scenic Point Lookout State Park was the venue for the annual 5 kilometer (K) race to help local responders. The Ridge Volunteer Rescue Squad 5K Run/Walk was held Saturday, May 16.

Over 30 participants started the trek at 8 a.m.

The top three finishers were Tucker Arvin, 14, whose winning time was 20 minutes and 42 seconds; Bennie Sullivan, 44, who logged a time of 21 minutes and 30 seconds; and Charles Ridgell, 24, who finished with a time of 23 minutes and 8 seconds.

The top female finishers were Laurel Cahill, 29, whose time was 23 minutes and 33 seconds, and Nelie Kessler, 27, who completed the course in 25 minutes and 11 seconds. Cahill is from Alabama.

Funds raised through the race will benefit the Ridge Volunteer Rescue Squad. In addition to entry fees paid by participants, a dozen local sponsors also aided the efforts.
