CALVERT COUNTY, Md. — Small Business Saturday is a shopping event that follows Black Friday and encourages people to spend their shopping dollars at local businesses. Keeping money in local economies is proven to be good for communities, and the event serves as a reminder to support businesses of all sizes during the busy holiday shopping season. This year, Small Business Saturday falls on Nov. 29.

In Calvert County, where small businesses make up the heart of the local economy, Small Business Saturday is an opportunity for residents to show their support to the businesses we champion all year. For many shops, large and small, the holidays are a vital time, and these stores rely on their communities to keep going.

With all that in mind, here are some Small Business Saturday events and markets taking place in Calvert County this weekend that you can check out:

This market starts at 9 a.m. on Nov. 29 at Cardinal Creek Plant Farm, 5180 Sixes Road, Prince Frederick. The market will be held inside three of the greenhouses and will have more than 35 vendors in attendance.
