Revoked License, Lots of Alcohol, Smoking Pipe, and Cocaine Floors

At 2:30 am On January 7, TFC Koch responded to the report of a single vehicle accident in the 38000 block of Chaptico Road in Mechanicsville.  When TFC Koch arrived, he made contact with the driver, Garrett Dewayne Butler, 27, of Lexington Park. 

A strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his person.  A routine check of MVA revealed that Mr. Butler’s driving privileges are revoked.  Mr. Butler was arrested for DUI and driving while revoked. 

A search incident to arrest led to the finding of a CDS smoking device with cocaine residue on the floor of the car. 

Mr. Butler was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center in Leonardtown and charged with DUI, driving while revoked, possession of cocaine and CDS paraphernalia and held pending a bond review.
