School Bus, Car Involved In Fiery Crash On Indian Head Highway

BRYANS ROAD, Md. — Emergency crews responded to a crash involving a school bus and a burning car early Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025, on Indian Head Highway near Lewis Place.

Fire and rescue personnel arrived just before 7:00 a.m. to find a vehicle engulfed in flames and a Charles County school bus, identified as Bus #360, involved in the collision. Officials confirmed no students were on board at the time.

Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze, and all occupants managed to escape safely. No injuries have been reported.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Further details will be released as they become available.

  1. At this area the road is flat straight and level with open visibility from all stand points .
    At Lewis place, there is also a cross over to south bound Indian Head. .
    For that amount of debris on the road speed was a major factor .
    This will be interesting as to whom is at fault .
    thankfully no one was hurt and no children were onboard ,,
    I wish we had picts of the impact damage area on the bus . and street skid marks , it helps to put together a story of the incident

    1. Not certain of cause, however the car was already flying up the road. Came flying up behind us farther south

  2. We were on 210 just prior to this accident. Looked up in rearview mirror to see this car flying up behind us but luckily we got over in left lane to go to McDonald’s drive through. Came back out to see billowing smoke. Glad no children were on that bus.
