
HUGHESVILLE, Md. – Emergency crews responded to a severe head-on collision along Leonardtown Road near Deborah Drive on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at approximately 1:42 p.m.
Firefighters arriving at the scene discovered two occupants trapped in their vehicles, both sustaining significant injuries. Crews quickly worked to extricate the occupants, who were then handed over to EMS for evaluation and care.

Given the severity of their injuries, a MEDEVAC was requested to transport both adult male patients. Maryland State Police Trooper 2 helicopter responded, airlifting the injured to MedStar Trauma Center for further treatment.
Police are actively investigating the circumstances leading to the crash. Motorists traveling in the area are advised to proceed with caution as delays are expected while the investigation continues.

I see people driving the wrong way on Rt.5 all the time!
That was my guess in order for it to be a head on collision someone had to have been driving on the wrong side of the road. And yes you are right…definitely see it all the time unfortunately.
