GALESVILLE, Md. — A 61-year-old woman from Shady Side was killed Saturday afternoon in a head-on collision in southern Anne Arundel County.

Around 12:14 p.m., on July 12, 2025, officers responded to the intersection of Muddy Creek Road and Old Sudley Road in Galesville after receiving reports of a serious crash. Investigators’ preliminary report says a 2008 Toyota Prius traveling north on Muddy Creek crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado heading southbound.

The driver of the Prius, identified as Patricia Lynn Warren of Shady Side, was pronounced dead at the scene by Anne Arundel County Fire Department personnel.

The 20-year-old driver of the Silverado, a resident of Lothian, was transported to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Traffic was shut down in both directions on Muddy Creek Road for several hours as the Anne Arundel County Police Crash Reconstruction Team processed the scene.
