CHARLOTTE HALL, Md. — Want to win free Sheetz for a year? You’ll have your chance on Sept. 11 — and that’s just one of the prizes being offered at the Sheetz grand opening event in Charlotte Hall.
The new Charlotte Hall store, No. 896, is located at 37692 John Knight Drive and will be open 24 hours. After years of planning and some construction hurdles, the Sheetz grand opening event and ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. on the 11th.
In addition to the opportunity to win a year’s worth of Sheetz, the event will feature other giveaways and prizes, staggered throughout the event:
- 10:15 a.m. — $250 Z-Card giveaway
- 10:30 a.m. — $250 Z-Card giveaway
- 10:45 a.m. — Grand opening ceremony and ribbon-cutting
- 11 a.m. — Ribbon-cutting, $2,500 Z-Card giveaway
The Sheetz for a Year ($2,500 Sheetz Z-Card) grand prize winner will be announced after the ribbon is cut at 11 a.m. Interested participants can sign up in the store at the big red tent. No purchase is necessary for the prizes, but the winner must be 18 or over to be eligible and present at the time of the drawing to win.
Online commentators had mixed opinions about the event and the Sheetz opening in Charlotte Hall. Many were excited about the new store, saying that it would alleviate pressure on the nearby stores, which sometimes have lines for gas and food. Several people expressed excitement to try the food from Sheetz compared to similar businesses.
Others said that another 24-hour convenience store wasn’t needed so close to 7-Eleven and Wawa, and that they would have liked to see something different in that location.
After Sept. 11, the community will have the chance to try out this new business for themselves.
The new Sheetz is also hiring for part-time roles and encourages prospective employees to follow the company Facebook page for updates and application information.
