Sheriff Timothy Cameron and the men and women of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office would like to congratulate Corporal Kenneth J. Mervine on his recent retirement. Cpl. Mervine has been St. Mary’s County Detention Center since 2003. His leadership gained the respect and admiration from not only his co-workers but also from the inmates he was responsible for providing care, custody and security.
Cpl. Mervine received numerous letters of commendation for his non-use of sick leave and dedication to service. In one particular letter of appreciation an inmate commented that he thankful for Cpl. Mervine’s professionalism, respect and compassion, all of which the inmate felt was helping him to become a better “human, husband and father”.
