CAMBRIDGE, Md. — A viral video showing federal immigration agents detaining six roofing workers at a Cambridge home has drawn widespread attention online, as questions remain about the circumstances leading up to the incident.

The detentions occurred in March 2026 at a residence on Bayly Road, where Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents took multiple workers into custody while they were completing a roofing job, according to video and online reports.

Footage livestreamed by a coworker shows agents arriving at the property and directing workers down from the roof before detaining them on the ground. Equipment and a work vehicle were left at the scene.

Another video captures the 65-year-old homeowner responding when questioned by a worker about the situation. In the recording, the homeowner says, “Well, first of all I’m pro ICE. I don’t think illegal people should be here, they should come in properly. I’m a retired Marine, I been in combat. I’ve fought to protect our rights.”

Reports circulating online allege the workers had been on site for several days and were nearing completion of the project at the time of the enforcement action. Authorities have not confirmed those details or publicly identified who contacted federal agents.

Federal officials have not released additional information, and the circumstances surrounding the call to ICE remain unclear.

The incident has fueled online debate over immigration enforcement and labor practices, as the video continues to circulate across social media platforms.

  1. Hmmm…the homeowner is PRO ICE and could see that the workers could be illegals but allowed them to work on his roof. The roofing proposal must have been more than reasonable and someone may have dropped a dime on these hardworking workers. Hopefully, the detainees are okay.

  2. A couple days ago same thing happened in MD. Owner called ICE. So not to pay them

  3. I think the owner called. Hope the job didn’t get completed and he can’t find anyone else to do it.

  4. locals in Cambridge KNOW the homeowner called. they were trying to avoid not paying a ~10K roof replacement bill. There are talks for a felony level fraud case against the homeowner over their actions.

    1. This makes literally zero sense whatsoever. What world do you live in where you think roofing workers determine billing? It’s INSANE how disingenuous you people are

  5. Those who hire illegals should be jailed. If there were no jobs for illegals, they wouldn’t risk crossing the border. But, we all know they are needed as there are some jobs Americans can’t or won’t do. So, illegals support and add to a healthy economy for the US.
