
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC – The St. Mary’s College of Maryland Men’s Tennis Team (0-3) kicked off day two of the PTR Spring Tennis Fest with a match against Cornell College (11-4) The Seahawks fell to the Rams, 7-2.
How It Happened:
Doubles
- Boris Palmade and Nick Rohr lost in the first doubles match in two sets. The Seahawk duo lost 8-4.
- Keawe Johnson and Daoud Alkhalidi dropped the number two doubles match by a score of 8-1.
- Andrew Hand and Max Esztergomi got the Seahawks their lone victory in doubles competition, picking up an 8-1 win.
Singles
- Boris Palmade picked up a win in the number one singles match, defeating his Rams opponent 6-2 in both sets. .
- Nick Rohr fell in the number two singles match. Rohr dropped the first set 7-5 and the second 6-3.
- Max Esztergomi came up short in the number three match for the Seahawks, dropping set one 6-4 and set two 6-0.
- Keawe Johnson lost both sets in the number four singles match by a score of 6-1.
- Daoud Alkhalidi dropped the number five match in heartbreaking fashion. Alkhalidi fell in the first set 6-3, won the second set 6-1, but lost the tiebreaker 10-5.
- Devon Gorel was defeated in both sets of the number six singles match by a final score of 6-1.
