Southern Maryland’s Christian Wilbon: Track Star, Scholar, And Rising Role Model

WALDORF, Md. – At just 18 years old, Westlake High School senior Christian Wilbon is turning heads across the nation—not just for his blistering speed on the track, but for his discipline, academic excellence, and artistic talent.

A standout in the world of youth athletics, Wilbon has earned over 300 medals in his career so far, including 14 national awards. He’s a 16-time AAU Track & Field All-American, an 8-time Junior Olympian medalist, and an Adidas and Nike Nationals All-American. His accomplishments have earned him high-level recognition, including three Maryland Governor’s Citations and a Maryland Senate Citation.

Wilbon’s achievements don’t stop at the finish line. With a perfect 5.0 GPA at Westlake High in Charles County, the scholar-athlete has been recognized with several prestigious academic honors, including the President’s Award for Academic Excellence and induction into both the National Society of High School Scholars and the WHS Honor Society. As well as 4 Maryland Governor Citations and 3 Maryland Senate Citations and being inducted into the Student Athlete Scholar Honor Society

Driven by more than athletic ambition, Wilbon has also begun pursuing his passion for acting. He’s training with NYLA Talent Agency and the Shakespeare Theater Company in Washington, D.C., with aspirations of landing roles in television and film.

“Whether I’m running a race or rehearsing a scene, I give my all,” Wilbon said.

Christian will take his talents to Columbia University in New York City this fall, with over $1.8 million in scholarship offers from top colleges under his belt. As a new student-athlete on the Ivy League stage, his sights remain set on balancing sports, academics, and the arts.
