
ST. MARY’S CITY, Md. – The St. Mary’s College of Maryland Baseball Team (3-9) hosted Notre Dame (MD) (5-13) for a lone mid-week contest. The Seahawks cruised past the Gators 16-1.
How It Happened
- The Seahawks jumped out in front 4-0 after the first three innings of play. Aaron Wathen, Trevor Smith, Ian Walters, and Rhett Fletcher all recorded an RBI.
- Notre Dame added their lone run of the contest in the top of the fourth inning.
- Ian Walters and Rhett Fletcher added three more runs for the Seahawks in the bottom of the fourth inning. Walters connected on a single that scored two, while Fletcher knocked a single that allowed one runner to cross home.
- St. Mary’s extended their lead to 10-1 in the top of the fifth inning. George Berbakos knocked an RBI single, while Trevor Smith blasted an RBi single that scored two.
- The Seahawks concluded the game by scoring six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Eli Shafer, and Adrian Auber both connected on RBI singles. Cole Tarleton chipped in a sacrifice fly. Trevor Smith made the big play in the inning, knocking in three runs with an RBI double down the line.
