On December 28 at 9 a.m., officers responded to the area of Blossom Point Road and Brentland Road in Port Tobacco for the report of a theft.
Investigation revealed unknown suspects climbed an electrical pole and stole about 4,000 feet of copper wire which was supported between two poles. Officers canvassed the area and processed the scene.
Sheriff Rex Coffey said criminals will do just about anything nowadays to steal metals. Thieves are so brazen, they often don’t try to hide what they’re doing and they get away with it because they look like they belong there.
