GLENARDEN, Md. — On August 6, 2024, at approximately 4:13 p.m., emergency personnel responded to a distress call in the 3100 block of Church St. in Glenarden. The incident involved a grey Chevrolet Equinox that had crashed into a single-family home, resulting in significant damage and injuries.

Upon arrival, crews discovered the SUV embedded in the structure with the driver trapped inside. Firefighters extricated the driver, who sustained serious injuries and handed them over to EMS for immediate medical attention. The patient was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital and is currently in critical condition.

An occupant inside the home was also transported for evaluation. As a precaution, the home was evacuated, and building inspectors have been called in to assess the structural integrity of the property and determine when, or if, it can be safely reoccupied.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

We will continue to provide updates as they become available.
