The Cove At Cobb Island To Reopen In Spring 2026 Under New Ownership

COBB ISLAND, Md. — The Cove at Cobb Island is officially reopening under new ownership, with plans to welcome guests back in spring 2026 with a new menu and refreshed dining experience.

Millian and his wife, Theresa, are the new owners and say they are excited to bring a fresh dining experience to the island while preserving the relaxed, community atmosphere that made The Cove a beloved gathering place. Many in the community may already recognize the couple as part owners of The Charles, where they have built a reputation for quality cuisine and attentive service.

Millian brings more than 20 years of experience in Washington, D.C.’s fine-dining and hotel food-and-beverage industry, including time at The Occidental, Vidalia, The Bombay Club and the Melrose Hotel, followed by his leadership role at The Charles. That background will help shape the menu, service and overall guest experience at The Cove while maintaining the welcoming feel residents have long appreciated.

When doors reopen, guests can expect daily brunch and an elevated dinner service centered on fresh, seasonal and vibrant flavors. A refined wine list and craft cocktail program are also in development. The couple said they are finalizing permits and licenses and working toward a spring launch.

Their goal is to create a high-quality, year-round dining option for Cobb Island and the broader Charles County community — a place residents can enjoy regularly and visitors can add to their waterfront plans.

The Cove had been closed for some time before the transition was made public. On Jan. 8, 2026, the previous owners shared a farewell message on Facebook, thanking the Cobb Island and Charles County community for eight years of support, loyalty and friendship. In the post, they officially welcomed the new owners and shared that the restaurant would reopen with a fresh New American concept.

The announcement followed a November 2025 post offering the café’s signature 100-gallon fish tank for sale, which first signaled to many residents that changes were underway.

While the familiar tank may no longer be part of the décor, the anticipation remains. With experienced restaurateurs leading the way and a fresh vision in place, The Cove’s return is adding new energy to Cobb Island just in time for spring 2026.
