Godspell (music by Steven Schwartz, book by John-Michael Tebelak) is a pop-rock musical celebrating the Gospel according to Matthew. Jesus’ teachings come to life in a spirited and exuberant fashion and culminate in a poignant and powerful depiction of the Last Supper and crucifixion.
The Newtowne Players will perform Godspell Thursdays through Sundays, May 3-19, 2013. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances start at 8 p.m.; Sunday shows begin at 3:30 p.m. Performances are held at Three Notch Theatre on 21744 South Coral Drive in Lexington Park.
Tickets are $18 for adults, $13 for children (12 and under) and $15 for students, senior citizens (65+) and the military. Thursday shows are $13 general admission. Group rates are also available.
