A more-than eight-foot bull shark was one of two caught in a net off Point Lookout within 200-feet of the swimming area.. Greg Dean and his father Willy caught the sharks on Tuesday. They were measured at Buzz’s Marina on St. Jerome’s Creek in Dameron.
According to Wikpedia, the online encyclopedia, “The bull shark is known for its aggressive nature, predilection for warm shallow water, and presence in brackish and freshwater systems including estuaries and rivers.”
Wikipedia adds about the bull shark: “They are probably responsible for the majority of near-shore shark attacks, including many attacks attributed to other species.”
The one female shark caught by the Deans measured precisely 8 feet three inches, which is about average for a female.
