
WALDORF, Md. — Two people were transported to area hospitals following a two-vehicle collision that resulted in a vehicle fire on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026, at the intersection of Hamilton Road and Monsanto Place in Waldorf.
Fire and rescue units were dispatched at about 8:47 a.m. for a reported motor vehicle collision with fire. Callers told dispatchers that multiple people were involved, including one person bleeding from the mouth, another unable to move her legs, and a third lying in the roadway. One of the vehicles was reported to be on fire.
Responding crews found one vehicle fully engulfed in flames and confirmed it was unoccupied upon arrival. Advanced life support units were requested due to the nature of the reported injuries.
A 43-year-old woman was transported to UM Charles Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. A 17-year-old female patient was taken to UM Capital Region Medical Center for further treatment.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
