
HUNTINGTOWN, Md. – On September 5, 2024 at approximately 11:42 a.m., emergency personnel responded to a serious motor vehicle accident in the area of Bowie Shop Road and Route 4.
Upon arrival, crews found two vehicles involved with one vehicle on its side, two occupants were trapped and injured. Firefighters worked to stabilize the vehicle and extricate both occupants. EMS evaluated both patients on the scene and requested a MEDEVAC for one due to injuries.

Firefighters established a landing zone nearby for Maryland State Police, Trooper 7. The patient was then airlifted to an area trauma center for treatment. The second patient was transported to CalvertHealth for care.
Police continue to investigate the collision.

That Bowie shop road turn is dangerous, everyone piles up there and you end up with 2-3 people all actively trying to turn the same way at the same time and no one coming out of Bowie shop road itself knows how to drive.
