SEVERN, Md. — A 17-year-old male from Glen Burnie was arrested late Thursday night after allegedly pointing a handgun at an individual during a disturbance in Severn, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

Officers with the Western District responded around 11:15 p.m. on March 26, 2026, to the 8000 block of Quarterfield Road for a reported physical disturbance involving a firearm.

Police say a group had gathered for a bonfire when the suspect arrived uninvited and became involved in a verbal dispute that escalated into a physical altercation. During the incident, the suspect allegedly retrieved a handgun from his vehicle and pointed it at another individual before fleeing the scene.

Following an investigation, officers located the suspect and his vehicle at his residence. With assistance from K9 units and drone operators, officers from the Northern and Western districts established a perimeter and took the suspect into custody without incident.

A loaded Smith & Wesson M&P handgun was recovered from the vehicle. The suspect is facing charges related to the incident.
