Open Auditions for St. Maryโ€™s Collegeโ€™s Production of Clare Bayleyโ€™s โ€œThe Containerโ€

The Department of Theater, Film, and Media Studies at St. Maryโ€™s College will hold open auditions for its first show of the year, Clare Bayleyโ€™s โ€œThe Container,โ€ on Tuesday, Sept. 10, and Wednesday, Sept. 11, from 6-9 p.m. Auditions will be held in the Bruce Davis Theater, Montgomery Hall Fine Arts Center, on the college campus. Callbacks will be held on Thursday, Sept. 12. Performance dates are Oct. 24-27 and Oct. 31-Nov. 3, 2013.

No experience is required to audition, although reading the play before auditioning is strongly recommended. Copies of the play are on reserve at the circulation desk of the St. Maryโ€™s College library. Those auditioning are asked to come prepared with a three-minute dramatic monologue of their choosing; a prepared piece is preferable to a cold reading. Twelve principal roles will be cast. For more information about procedures for auditioning or about the play, contact the director, Michael Ellis-Tolaydo, at mellistolaydo@smcm.edu or 240-895-4244.
