UPDATE: Chantel Cook, who was arrested in February for making repeated bomb threats to Wal-mart was sentencedย July 10,ย by a St. Mary’s County judge to six years. Cook was also required to be responsible for restitution to Wal-mart to the tune of $32,000 and an additional $2,800 to nearby Checkers restaurant which had its operations closed 8 times in 12 days because of the bomb threat hoax.

As part of the ongoing investigation into the bomb threats received by the Wal-Mart Store in California Maryland, St. Maryโs County BCI detectives worked throughout Friday night and into Saturday morning gathering evidence and preparing to conduct a search warrant on a Lusby residence.
During the morning, on Saturday, Feb. 21, the Wal-Mart received its eighth telephoned bomb threat.ย A short time later BCI detectives with the assistance of Maryland State Police Helicopter Trooper 7 andย St. Maryโs and Calvert County Sheriffโs Emergency Services Teams, conductedย the search warrant and apprehended Chantel Denise Cook, a.k.a. Chantel Katika Walker, 32 from Lusby.
Cook, a Wal-Mart employee, was charged with 8 counts of False Statement of a Destructive Device. Each count carries a maximum penalty of ten years in prison and a ten thousand dollar fine. She was incarcerated in the St. Maryโs County Detention Center late morning on Saturday, Feb. 21.

Bureau of Criminal Investigations detectives after an exhaustive 24-hour plus day and night attained a search warrant and made an arrest in the serial bomb threat case.
The person arrested was a female employee of Wal-Mart. After BCI detectives tracked down the callers phone and the suspect was found, an arrest was made.
