HILLVILLE, Md. — We received reports that earlier this afternoon, a truck flipped over the guardrail on Route 235 and had to be pulled out of a lake.
At approximately 2:13 p.m. on May 1, the Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the 25400 block of Three Notch Road in Hillville for a motor vehicle accident with a single vehicle overturned and in the water.
14 volunteers reportedly responded to the incident from surrounding departments and rescue squads. Units arrived to find a single vehicle that rolled over, ending upright in a lake.
The single occupant had self extricated prior to the fire departments arrival. The crews checked in and around the vehicle for any additional occupants while also securing the vehicle.
The occupant was deemed to be a trauma patient and MSP Aviation was alerted for the fly out. Engine 72 handled the landing zone for Trooper 7.
The patient was transported to the Prince George’s Trauma Center and the scene was turned over to MSP. The units from Hollywood returned to quarters at 3 p.m.
