BALTIMORE, Md. – Winning $90,000 on the Maryland Lottery’s THE BIG SPIN game gives a bride-to-be from Salisbury a little latitude in making plans for her wedding and honeymoon.
Victoria was quiet and reserved, but all smiles, when she and her fiancé arrived at Lottery headquarters for her chance to spin The Big Spin Wheel for a prize of $50,000 to $250,000.
The Salisbury Regional Airport employee says her mom is the person who got her interested in playing Lottery games, but THE BIG SPIN win of $90,000 far exceeds anything either of them has won before.
Victoria, her mom, and her fiancé have been playing THE BIG SPIN since it hit stores in March. They had the experience of winning smaller prizes on the animated digital spin, but when she scanned it this time on her phone, that digital spin showed, “Congratulations! You’ve won a BIG SPIN!” and she knew it was something bigger.
Victoria and her fiancé have a five-month-old son, so they made arrangements for a sitter and brought the ticket to Baltimore to spin. When the time came, she reached high on the wheel and spun the wheel multiple revolutions before it came to a stop at the $90,000 spot.
In addition to a wedding and honeymoon, possibly in the Bahamas, the parents are also planning to sock away some money for their son.
Also benefitting is the Express Mart at 617 North Salisbury Boulevard in Salisbury where the winning ticket was sold. The store receives a bonus of $900.
THE BIG SPIN is a $5 scratch-off game that launched March 20. Players who reveal a “SPIN” symbol can scan their scratch-off at a Lottery retailer or by using the Lottery’s app. Most “SPIN” prizes lead to a cash prize of $10 to $250, but eight winning tickets will send players to try their luck with The Big Spin Wheel at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. That spin will award a minimum prize of $50,000 and up to $250,000. Four of those remain unclaimed.
Players can also win instant prizes on the ticket. There are two $50,000 instant top prizes remaining, along with thousands of prizes between $5 and $5,000.
