BRANDYWINE, Md. – He wanted to share his story for those who might be on the fence about getting the COVID-19 vaccine.

Firefighter Steve Collins of Station 840 in Brandywine celebrates his 33rd year with the Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department this month. He was a Volunteer firefighter for 12 years before becoming a Career member.

Before this summer, he would run 4x a week and went to the gym regularly so he could stay in shape and healthy and do the job he loves.

This summer, he faced the battle of his life. It’s a fight that continues.

Steve’s bravery in sharing his story matches the bravery he demonstrates in service to Prince George’s County every shift. Here he is…serving again.
