“There is one team, one goal. We’re Team Excellence,” he said. “Excellence is not a destination, it’s a process.”
To drum up enthusiasm at a pep rally at William B. Wade, pep experts were called in. Westlake
High School cheerleaders led the crowd in the cheer “Let’s go, Wildcats” as the band played.On Aug. 22 — the first day back for returning teachers — Wade held a pep rally to drum up enthusiasm for the upcoming year. It got an assist from Westlake High School’s marching band, flag team and cheerleaders.
Jackson said the invite to Westlake students was a no-brainer. Members of Westlake’s Class of 2016 came by the school for a Parade of Success before graduation to encourage the younger students to stay in school, why not ask Westlake to come back and inspire teachers?
By strengthening the bonds between schools, a community is built, Jackson said. “And as good as we are,” he said. “We can get better.”
